My husband recently painted our living room and hallway for me. I have been day dreaming of the perfect color
blue and I do believe that I found it. It is called "Serenity" by Olympic Paint. You can get it at Lowes and it was less that $11 a galloon ... WOOT WOOT!!!
After looking at bare walls for way to long I looked back in my craft notebook ( yes I have a craft notebook, what else are you supposed to do with all of the amazing ideas that I have come across all of these years) and remebered that I made silhouettes of my 1st son for his Grandma's for Mother's Day one year. They LOVED them and so did I. Everytime someone came over and saw mine they always said that looks just like him. I am involved in our MOPS group at church and lead a craft night at my home on how to make these as cheap Christmas gifts.
I knew the perfect spot for them ... on the wall at the end of the hallway. This is SO EASY you are going to want to grab your camera and take a picture as soon as you can.
Supplies: camera, printed picture (I use a 5x7 print to put in a 8x10 frame) , black cardstock paper, scissors, pencil, and a frame.
- Take a picture of your child's profile (hint: you want it zoomed in so that the tops of your childs shoulders and head are the only thing in the picture)
- Have the picture printed or print at home. I just printed mine on printer paper. Sorry no picture of the pic because I was so ready to get started I forgot to take one. :(
- With your scissors cut around your childs face. Make sure to take your time around the details (ex: lips, mouth, hair) I used 2 different pairs of scissors but I sure that I could have done it with just one.
- Trace the outline of picture onto black cardstock paper with a pencil.
- Cut out the profile again being careful around the details. And there you have it. A super cute profile. I just glued the silhouette to a piece of printer paper and put in a frame.

Everytime that I walk down the hall I just get a HUGE smile.
The total for this project was $0. I had everything already at home. I really need to start using up all of my supplies before I make a run to the store.
